We are so thankful for our volunteer Paula!!! She will be helping us with Therapy Interrelations which consist of a pro-active initiative and personal approach in connecting individuals with the right therapists and negotiating with therapists to offer pro-bono and/or discounted rate therapy sessions for the non-insured. While ensuring the therapists are providing healing coping mechanisms with compassion and empathy during therapy sessions. We have implemented this protocol due to the vast accounts of many claiming to not have a genuine connection and relationship with therapists they've found through their own attempts, resources and not being able to financially afford sessions because they are uninsured. Therefore, we will help to bridge that gap between therapists and patients and assist trauma survivors in getting the help they desire and deserve. With continuing to provide financial assistance for low-income individuals for therapy sessions.
Paula has been a social justice and political activist, as well as a mental illness awareness advocate, since her senior year of high school. As a survivor of school bullying, she has spoken at various schools, clubs, conferences, and organizations about this issue. Thanks to her rigorous college education at Palo Alto University, where she majored in psychology and social action, she has been able to speak out against bullying from both her own experience and from a scientific lens. She is currently a postbaccalaureate student at the University of Washington, studying speech and hearing sciences.
